LA Nights Shawl- Free Pattern Friday!

Looking for a quick, easy and pretty shawl for those warmer months?  Here’s one! Made with about a skein of Caron United yarn in about 3 episodes of “Once Upon a Time.” J
I made this to wear with a dress to my brother’s wedding (in LA. Hence the name J). It’s just enough to keep me warm as the evening starts to cool. I love the look of the stitches and the simplicity of the pattern. I can’t wait to see how it looks in lacy yarn!

What you’ll need:
WW yarn
I hook
(Any yarn will work, just use a hook appropriate for that yarn.)

Notes:
Gauge is not important to this project
If using a different yarn than WW, add or remove rows to achieve the size you’d like
Shawl is worked from bottom corner up. Rows will increase in size as you go.
First Ch 3 counts as first stitch
R1: Ch4. Dc, ch 3, 2dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch 3, turn. (1 ch3 space)
R2: Dc in next st, ch 3, sc in ch3 space, ch 3, dc in last 2 dcs. Ch 3, turn (2 ch3 spaces)
R3: Dc in next st, ch 3, **sc in ch3 space, ch 3** twice, dc in last 2 dcs. Ch 3, turn (3 ch3 spaces)
R4: Dc in next st, ch 3, **sc in ch3 space, ch 3** three times, dc in last 2 dcs. Ch 3, turn (4 ch3 spaces)
R5-56: continue in this manner (Dc in next st, ch 3, **sc in ch3 space, ch 3** across,, dc in last 2 dcs. Ch 3, turn)

You can also continue on if you’d like a bigger shawl. Mine (ending at R56) measures about 62” long and 22” tall)

On last row, either fasten off, or sc evenly around. Weave in all ends.
